Central Virginia will now join the Hampton Roads and Northern Virginia areas by adding a .07% regional tax to fund transportation costs, making sales tax 6%.
Which areas are affected?
City of Richmond and the Counties of Charles City, Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, New Kent and Powhatan
When is it effective?
October 1st, 2020
As a business owner, what do you need to do?
If you currently charge sales tax on your products or services, you will need to update your systems and software so that starting October 1st, you charge your customers 6% sales tax.
